BEAUXWRIGHT LAUNCHES BUILD-FOR-RENT TOWNHOME AND RETAIL DEVELOPMENT IN HIGHLAND CREEK

Urban Walkability, Lower Price Point in Popular North Charlotte Community

Charlotte, NC - Beauxwright, LLC, is proud to announce the launch of Cascadia, a new build-for-rent townhome and retail development in Highland Creek, one of Charlotte’s largest and fastest-growing communities.

This seven-acre, mixed-use project in North Charlotte includes 89 new-build, three-story townhomes and 4,000 SF of retail, and answers the demand for build-for-rent townhomes in an area where there is currently little inventory and price points are high.

Beauxwright has partnered with White Point, who is leading the retail construction and leasing, and Copper Builders, who is utilizing a custom homebuilder approach to the design and construction of the townhomes. The developers are working with investment firm Cross Lake Partners, based out of New York City. The first phase of development is currently underway. “We’re excited to be creating a unique new residential option in this popular area of Charlotte,” said Andy Lucas, principal at Beauxwright. “Our goal is to create a setting that combines suburban comfort and urban walkability. This is an increasingly important factor for people considering townhome living, especially millennials. On foot, there’s close proximity to four shopping centers. For commuting, residents have easy access to three interstates – I-485, I-77 and I-85 – so this is a central point between Uptown Charlotte, UNCC and Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.”

Lucas adds that the caliber of construction sets this new development apart. “Copper Builders is known for a high level of quality and detail,” he said. “We wanted a custom approach in every aspect of the design, to ensure that finishes and unit layouts would go beyond market expectations. The style is unique, too. The inspiration comes from European villages, as well as the feel of the Pacific Northwest. Earth tones, white Hardie siding, sage and dark olive bases, and black roofs are all part of the design aesthetic. It adds up to a fresh new option for residents who are looking for a high-quality home that is still priced affordably.”

Smaller lot sizes and vertical construction are part of the walkable urban village concept of Cascadia at Highland Creek, with spacious layouts on each floor, and dedicated garage parking on the street level.

“On the retail side, our collaboration with White Point is a true differentiator,” Lucas said. “Among their many projects, Optimist Hall in Charlotte has been a model for modern mixed-use developments. Now they’re bringing their creative thinking to Cascadia at Highland Creek.” The built-in retail component of the project will offer grocery, dining and other services in close proximity.

“Consumer demand in the build-for-rent market is shifting to denser developments, and this project represents an evolution within the established Highland Creek community,” Lucas said. “We want residents to feel they’ve found the perfect combination of urban and suburban living.”
